An individual, a 56-year-old man from Singapore, was taken into custody on Monday (Sept 1) due to allegations of molesting his teenage stepdaughter in Melaka.

As per information from the police, Malaysian news outlet The Star disclosed that the incident came to light following a dispute between the 15-year-old victim and her older sister at their residence in Kampung Ayer Baru.

Reportedly, the victim, the youngest among five siblings, stated that the incident took place two years ago.

She confided in her 56-year-old mother about the traumatic experience.

Additionally, the victim's 17-year-old elder sister shared a similar encounter with the accused earlier this year, according to The Star.

Subsequently, the victim filed a police report on Sept 1, leading to the man's arrest on the same day.

The unemployed man was detained on Sept 2 for five days, under the magistrate's directive, and was instructed to cooperate with the authorities during the investigation.
