Elon Musk's estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, has made it clear that she does not consider herself wealthy.
Living in Los Angeles with three roommates to save money, the 21-year-old daughter of the Tesla and Space X billionaire plans to attend a community college to pursue her passion for languages.
Despite assumptions about her financial status, Vivian stated, "College is expensive. I don't have that inheritance. People assume I have a lot of money, but I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars readily available. My mom is rich, right? But obviously the other one is unimaginable degrees of wealthy."
As a transgender individual, Vivian remains content with her situation, emphasizing that she is more fortunate than many others her age.
"I don't aspire to be extremely wealthy. I can afford basic necessities, have friends, a place to live, and some disposable income, which sets me apart from most young people in Los Angeles," she shared.
Despite gaining prominence as a model for Teen Vogue, Vivian admitted to struggling with fame and missing the anonymity of a regular life.
Reflecting on her newfound celebrity status, she expressed, "I'm not adept at handling fame. It's a skill. I worked hard to be seen as an ordinary person for so long. There was a brief moment before fame when I was unknown, and it was wonderful. I was treated just like anyone else. I sometimes long for that simplicity. But I also appreciate being known... I suppose I'm somewhat indifferent to it. However, I appreciate that it brings financial benefits."
While Vivian faces online negativity, she chooses to focus on the positive support she also receives.
"I concentrate on the encouragement more than the criticism, and it outweighs the negativity," she remarked. "I encounter a lot of hateful comments directed at me. But what can I do about that? I have no choice but to move past it. My trust in people has improved. I initially expected widespread disapproval. It's been a year, and it seems people don't despise me."
