Taylor Swift held a private three-hour concert for the wife of wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett, Jill Gregory, shortly before her passing from breast cancer.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, 58-year-old Jarrett recalled the touching moment from Christmas 2006 when Taylor, then an up-and-coming country artist, visited their home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. At the time, Jill was seriously ill, and Swift's spontaneous performance created a lasting memory for the entire family.
Jarrett shared, "She arrived without her guitar. She actually rushed back home because the girls wanted her to sing and play."
What started as a small gathering soon grew to about 45 people as news spread.
Jeff's daughters – Joslyn, Jaclyn, and Jerlyn – are avid Swift fans, and the popular songstress made a big fuss over them. They remained in contact even after Jill's passing in May 2007.
He mentioned, "She connected with the family, especially with the girls."
Taylor would also babysit his daughters and bake cookies with them.
Years later, Jaclyn was cast as a young Taylor in the music video for "Mine," solidifying the special bond between the Jarretts and the worldwide superstar.
Jarrett remarked, "Such a wonderful relationship blossomed. After my wife's passing, Taylor would visit and was very supportive of the girls."
