Following the sudden closures of well-known restaurants, The Prive Group has now joined the list of F&B establishments that are shutting down.
The Prive Group officially confirmed this news through an Instagram post on Sept 1.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the difficult news of the closure of all Prive outlets, effective Sept 1. This decision has not come lightly, and after much reflection, we've concluded that the combination of external market challenges and rising operational costs leave us with no viable path forward," they wrote.
"We want to express our deepest gratitude to you - our loyal customers, dedicated staff, and trusted partners. Over the years, your support has meant everything to us, and it's with great sadness that we must close this chapter. The memories we've created together will always be cherished."
The Prive Group mentioned that they are currently seeking professional financial advice to navigate through the next steps.
They also confirmed that the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) has transferred operations to Commonwealth Concepts starting from Sept 1.
"There will be no disruptions in service, and Empress will remain open for museum visitors and the general public. The previous Prive unit at ACM will be transformed into a Baker & Cook outlet, scheduled to open on Sept 4. They will continue to honor prior event bookings made with Empress and Prive ACM," the group shared, highlighting that Commonwealth Concepts is a well-established F&B player both locally and internationally.
Commonwealth Concepts boasts a diverse portfolio of renowned brands like Bedrock, Kinki, Fat Cow, Baker & Cook, The Marmalade Pantry, and PastaMania.
"Thank you for being a part of our journey, and for your understanding as we navigate through this challenging period. We remain optimistic about the future of the F&B industry in Singapore and urge you to continue supporting the exceptional homegrown brands that enrich our culinary landscape," concluded The Prive Group.
Checks conducted by AsiaOne on Sept 1 revealed that their website is currently inaccessible.
AsiaOne has reached out to the group for further information.
The Prive Group was founded in 2007 and initially opened its first outlet at Keppel Bay before expanding to various locations such as Jewel Changi Airport, 313 Somerset, Wheelock Place, Holland Village, Botanic Gardens, and the Asian Civilisations Museum. They also owned the Chinese restaurant Empress.
In 2026, they closed their outlets at Jewel Changi Airport and 313 Somerset.
The CEO of The Prive Group, French national Vu Han Jean-Luc Kha, made headlines in 2021 for undisclosed reasons in 2019.
