Looking for an easy way to invest in Singapore? The Best ETF Singapore options allow you to grow your wealth with low costs and diversified exposure.

What Is an ETF?

An Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) is a basket of securities like stocks or bonds that you can buy and sell on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). It gives you exposure to multiple companies or sectors in one single investment, making it popular among both beginners and experienced investors.

Why Invest in ETFs in Singapore?

  • Diversification – Reduce risks by investing in a wide range of companies.
  • Low Cost – ETFs usually have lower fees compared to unit trusts.
  • Liquidity – Easy to buy and sell on SGX anytime during market hours.
  • Transparency – ETFs track well-known indexes, so you always know what you’re investing in.
  • Long-Term Growth – Great for retirement planning and wealth accumulation.

Popular ETFs in Singapore

  1. Straits Times Index ETF (STI ETF) – Tracks the performance of the top 30 Singapore companies like DBS, OCBC, and Singtel.
  2. Nikko AM Singapore STI ETF – Another version of the STI ETF with strong liquidity.
  3. ABF Singapore Bond Index Fund – A good choice for conservative investors who prefer bonds.
  4. Lion-OCBC Securities Hang Seng TECH ETF – Exposure to major Chinese tech companies.
  5. S&P 500 ETF (via SGX-listed options) – Allows Singapore investors to tap into the US stock market.

How to Start Investing in ETFs in Singapore

  1. Open a brokerage account (DBS Vickers, FSMOne, Tiger Brokers, Saxo, etc.).
  2. Decide whether you want local or global exposure.
  3. Buy ETFs directly on SGX or via regular savings plans (RSP).
  4. Hold long-term for compounding growth.

ETF vs Other Investments

  • Stocks – Higher risk with single companies, ETFs spread the risk.
  • Unit Trusts – Higher fees compared to ETFs.
  • Fixed Deposits – Safe but lower returns than ETFs.

Best Strategy for ETF Investors in Singapore

  • Start with broad-based ETFs like the STI ETF.
  • Use dollar-cost averaging to invest regularly.
  • Consider both equity and bond ETFs for balance.
  • Hold long-term to enjoy compounding returns.

Conclusion

The Best ETFs in Singapore give investors a smart, affordable, and low-risk way to grow wealth. Whether you’re new to investing or a seasoned trader, ETFs should be part of your portfolio.

today we are going to talk about a simple way to earn passive income without having to constantly watch the markets so I've been looking into the Nikko am SGD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF and it's like holding a basket full of corporate bonds what I noticed about the ETF is that it pays out distributions on a semi annual basis making it attractive for investors looking for stable returns and lower risk these are the only four index funds and etfs you ever need for the rest of your life I'm Steve a millionaire former public school teacher now teaching finances the first is an ETF that tracks the SMP 500 this allows you to invest in the top 500 companies in the United States like Nvidia Costco Walmart and Microsoft examples of these etfs include spy IVV VOO SPLG or whatever you're comfortable with most people invest in the s and P 500 to get general market exposure which is great but if you do your research there are etfs that actually beat the s and P 500 I use a tool called ososis for all my stock analysis you can find a link to this tool in my bio go check it out it's really cool here are three etfs that outperform the s and P 500 and why you should know about them No. 1 is Q Q Q this ETF tracks the Nasdaq 100 contrary to popular belief doing more doesn't always lead to great investment returns over time often times keeping it simple when we invest can actually lead to extraordinary returns over time so here are three top etfs that you can buy and hold forever in any investment portfolio before I get started why should you listen to me well I'm Tim from Tim Talks Money and I worked in private wealth and asset management for over 15 years in both Hong Kong and Singapore guys this is one of the most popular etfs in Singapore it holds assets that are arguably safer than US bonds Singapore's the only country in Asia with a triple a credit rating from all major rating agencies that's even higher rated than the US the ABS Singapore Bond Index Fund is the largest Singapore government bond ETF with 100% Singapore dollar denominated government bonds in its holdings and this ETF has had a 9 point 11% total returns in just one year we received questions about how to buy Singapore listed etfs after our previous video today we'll show you how to do it in three simple steps step 1 you'll need to have a stock brokerage account you can use a full service stock brokerage platform like DBS or a low cost commission broker such as Interactive Brokers or Tiger Brokers here are some key considerations when you select a broker 1 trading fees 2 ease of use and 3 where you'd want your ETF to be stored if you're starting out investing or even if you're an experienced investor one of the best ways to get exposure to the stock market is through an exchange traded fund also known as an ETF it's both low cost and it gives you broad diversification one of the best things about Singapore Exchange listed etfs is that now you can buy single shares of an ETF which means you can buy one share traditionally with stocks listed on the Singapore Exchange you have to buy them in lots of 100 so these are my top three etfs that I would buy and hold forever so the first ETF I would pick is the cspx which tracks the s and P 500 so the reason why I choose the cspx is because it's Irish domicile so my withholding tax as a foreign investor is reduced to 15% and I avoid the US estate taxes entirely for the last 10 years the SMP 500 has returned 12.4% per annum the expense ratio for the cspx is about 0.07% so my second ETF would be the qqqm which tracks the Nasdaq 100 the original QQQ has an expense ratio you're like me a Singaporean building a dividend portfolio is going to be incredibly difficult here's why unlike our friends in the USA we have to pay a 30% withholding dividend tax and good blue chip companies don't even pay that much dividends but the bright side about being Singaporean is that you do not get capital gains tax whatever money you make from the appreciation in stock price is all yours to keep that is something unique to us Singaporeans but one other thing that is unique to us Singaporeans if you are a dividend investor is looking into Singapore stocks because Singapore stocks pays a lot of dividends but on top of that you do not get taxed Singapore companies tend to also keep increasing the dividends over time so what used to be a 4% from your initial investment would double to maybe 8% a year for example when Parkway Life read first launched it was only giving ¢7 per share assuming you bought it in 2008 and you did not do anything right now it is almost doubled to ¢14 a share this means that as time goes on the amount of dividends that you are getting increases as well even though you did not buy a single new share don't skimp out on Singapore stocks you are in a very unique position for you to capitalize on capital gains from the US market but also capitalize from the dividends from the Singapore market hey guys it's Timmy to talk money and etfs exchange traded funds are one of the best ways to get low cost investment exposure to different asset classes now if you're under 40 you're probably gonna wanna be invested 100% into stocks so here are my two top US etfs that I'm buying right now No. 1 the ishare's core s and P 500 US ETF now this is listed in London under the ticker C s P X and this allows you to get broad exposure to the US stock market
