After more than a decade since their last performance, could the legendary Mandopop group F4 finally make a grand return to the stage?
On June 4, Taiwan's Mirror Media sparked excitement among fans by reporting that the iconic quartet — consisting of Vic Chou, Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, and Van Ness Wu — have allegedly agreed to reunite for a special concert in 2026. This would mark the 25th anniversary of their sensational debut that took Asia by storm.
The rumor mill went into overdrive when Vic Chou addressed these reports during the premiere of his new Taiwanese drama "The World Between Us: After The Flames 2". The actor, who will celebrate his 44th birthday on June 9, revealed some surprising truths about past reunion attempts.
"I receive reunion invitations every single year," Vic confessed to reporters. "But somehow they never materialize." He explained that his hesitation stems from wanting any potential comeback to be meaningful rather than just a commercial endeavor. "When I've asked about concrete plans beyond performing together," he added with visible frustration, "I never get any answers."
The star remained noncommittal about whether this latest rumored reunion would actually happen. When pressed about his former bandmates' thoughts on getting back together, Vic responded with characteristic humor: "Why ask me? Go ask them directly!"
Reflecting on their glory days as F4 members brought back fond memories for Vic. "Honestly, I never felt much pressure during our group activities," he shared with a smile. "As the youngest member all I had to do was bring my crazy energy and keep things fun."
A Legacy That Endures
The foursome skyrocketed to fame after starring in Taiwan's groundbreaking idol drama Meteor Garden (2001), which became an international phenomenon across Asia and beyond. Their musical career saw them release three successful albums before officially disbanding in 2009.
Their only post-breakup performance occurred in 2013 at Jiangsu Television's Spring Festival Gala - leaving fans hungry for more ever since.
As anticipation builds around this potential reunion concert marking their silver anniversary as performers industry insiders speculate whether all four stars can align their busy schedules and creative visions for what could be one of Mandopop's most anticipated comebacks ever.
