Japan remains Singaporeans' favorite travel hotspot — with 2024 already seeing record-breaking visitor numbers from the Lion City. Now, travelers have another compelling reason to visit as Okinawa prepares to unveil its spectacular new jungle-themed adventure park, Junglia, on July 25.
Spanning a massive 600,000 square meters across Yambaru's lush forests (built on a repurposed golf course), Junglia promises over 20 unique attractions blending adrenaline-pumping activities with relaxing nature experiences. From prehistoric encounters to breathtaking aerial views, this innovative park redefines tropical adventure tourism.
Thrills Above and Below the Canopy
The park's standout features include:
- Dinosaur Safari: An immersive prehistoric expedition through animatronic-filled jungles
- Horizon Balloon: A tethered hot air balloon offering 360-degree views of Okinawa's emerald landscapes
- Aerial Challenge Course: Nine treetop obstacle points connected by swaying suspension bridges hovering 15 meters above ground
- Tropical Buggy Trails: Off-road adventures through specially designed jungle routes
Spa Sanctuary Amidst the Wild
Spa Junglia transforms traditional Japanese onsen culture into a tropical retreat featuring:
Infinity-edge baths overlooking virgin forests
Volcanic limestone baths for mineral therapy
Traditional saunas and cold plunge pools
Private outdoor soaking tubs surrounded by native flora
"We wanted to create harmony between exhilaration and relaxation," explains CEO Tsuyoshi Morioka in an exclusive preview.
70 Billion Yen Vision
The S$627 million development capitalizes on Japan's tourism resurgence post-pandemic. Early projections suggest several thousand daily visitors during peak seasons.
